FAQ - IP configuration on devices

Question
How can I change the IP settings of TBS devices?

Answer
Usually server and client IP addresses of TBS devices need to be adapted to your installation. This can be done in two ways:
  1. directly on device screen, using network configuration pages in Admin mode (terminals only)
  2. using DeviceConfig web application, available on all device.
Both methods are described below.

Step-by-step guide: change IP settings using DeviceConfig
Follow these steps to change IP configuration using DeviceConfig web interface:
  1. find out device IP (displayed on info page for terminals)
  2. enter IP in web browser
  3. log in using your credentials (for default credentials please contact TBS support)
  4. go to 'Device Settings' to display current configuration
  5. revise settings in 'Network' category according to your installation
  6. hit 'Apply Changes' and confirm
  7. wait for the firmware to reload

Step-by-step guide: change IP settings on device
Follow these steps to change IP configuration directly on device:
  1. activate Admin mode using 'time - status' shortcut (status bar displays 'Admin' then)

  1. authenticate yourself (using biometrics, card or PIN)
  2. select 'Network' category from the list
  3. configure device and server settings (optionally also modify Update server and XML server settings)
  4. safe your settings (disk icon)
  5. leave Admin pages (X)

Note:
Admin mode is only available on terminals featuring touchscreen. It does not contain all options and TBS therefore recommends to prefer DeviceConfig web interface for device configuration.
