HowTo - Resolve 3D finger positioning problems
I am not able to position finger properly inside the 3D sensor, how to resolve it?
If users are not able to position finger
properly inside the 3D sensor, this could be caused by improper sensor calibration.
You can resolve it by following below steps:
Calibration is available under 'Maintenance'
→ 'Sensor calibration' (Firmware 2.xx) or under 'Configuration' →
'Maintenance' → 'More' → 'LEDs calibration' (Firmware 1.xx).
During calibration please consider these
instructions:
- If sun-flap is not installed, please cover the sensor hole to
prevent external light entering inside sensor. The sensor hole can be covered by
hand or small notebook/mobile.
- If sun-flap is installed, please open the sun-flap with a small object
like screwdriver/pen (best is thin and black) and keep the sensor hole open
during calibration
(2) If calibration does not solve the problem, please repeat the
process one more time after re-powering the Terminal.
Procedure to re-power device safely:
- Shutdown the device using ADMIN pages (do not shut down by just cutting
power!)
- Power-off the device and wait for 30 seconds
- Re-power the device: remove from power supply and connect again to
start device
It is important that device is shutdown
& re-powered and not just rebooted. A mere reboot will not help because it
does not re-initialize the sensor module.
