FAQ - RFID custom card configuration

The TBS terminals by default try to read the TBS ID from Mifare Classic and Desfire card. To read cards with custom data, the RFID customization service was offered where the card read parameters were forwarded to TBS team to create custom format package. Beginning with 2.06.10 FW, these parameters are available for configuration in the DeviceConfig web interface. This article provides a brief overview of this feature and how to use it.

The RFID custom configuration can be enabled under Device Settings/RFID page. The detailed configuration can be set in the sub-menu that appears below. Please note that the sub-menu is displayed only when Advanced settings are enabled. 
The ' Custom Configuration' when enabled overrides any existing RFID settings on device. To switch back to old settings, please disable it.

The technologies Mifare Classic and Mifare Desfire are only supported. Please choose the Technology and configure W hat to read from the card. Its possible to read either the  Card UID or Custom Data from the card. 

In case of  Custom Data , the related settings are displayed and available for configuration. The settings should be self-explanatory and familiar to the installers.


Please enable 'Report reading errors' to report the card reading errors on the device screen. To know the exact card number read by device, enable either 'Device EventLog reporting' or 'BioManager EventLog reporting' and check in the respective EventLog page.

Its not possible to set the configuration for both Mifare Classic and Mifare Desfire Technologies. The configuration for currently selected Technology will only be set and other cleared.
